Well my dreams have finally become a reality...I'm a homeowner! This is not just a regular house...this is probably one of the coolest houses I have ever set my eyes on!
This house is located on the family farm which has been owned by the Brown's for over 150 years, making it a Heritage Farm. The farm is now owned by my Great Aunt and Uncle, Craig and Shirley Paugh. The house was built by my great-great grandpa back in 1912 and has YEARS and YEARS of history and memories in it. Every generation of the Browns have lived in this house since my great-great Grandpa and Grandma, Burt and Maude, finished the house nearly 100 years ago. Story has it that great Grandpa Brown's tricycle tracks from when he was a kid are visible between the kitchen and dining room.
Ever since I was a little girl I had always dreamed about living in this house. My parents have told me stories about how they would sit on the porch in the fall with a big glass of iced tea and sit and stare at all the colors of the trees that are settled on the hill east of the house and I thought that would be so neat to just come home, sit, and relax after day of work. After returning home from college, I had always had the thought still in the back of my head about living in the house. I had never brought it up to Craig and Shirley or my parents before a couple of months ago because I didn't know what they would think about it. After several emails between Craig and Shirley and I, they presented me with an awesome opportunity of owning this piece of Brown history. I couldn't resist and accepted what they had laid out and we got the wheels turning right away! Within 2 weeks the deed was in my name and the ideas started and haven't stopped yet. Well I better get going. Here are a couple of pictures for you all to look at. Thanks for reading and I'm glad to have you all with me as I take on this project!
